{"id":1385,"date":"2022-01-19T16:29:19","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T17:29:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shahed.news\/en\/?p=1385"},"modified":"2022-01-19T16:29:19","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T17:29:19","slug":"kabul-urges-islamic-countries-to-recognize-afghan-govt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shahed.news\/en\/2022\/01\/19\/kabul-urges-islamic-countries-to-recognize-afghan-govt\/","title":{"rendered":"Kabul Urges Islamic Countries to Recognize Afghan Govt"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div class=\"related-post clearfix view view-article-single view-id-article_single view-display-id-article_body js-view-dom-id-e3d8750c5ff7881639bcc4a78b08e34c8126c14ef12035addc6d0ab3feecdb74\">\n<div class=\"view-content\">\n<div class=\"views-row\">\n<div class=\"entry-summary clearfix\">\n<div class=\"views-field views-field-field-article-body-summary-1 full-html-text\">\n<p><strong>Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund called on Islamic countries to be the first to recognize the Afghan government. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The prime minister made the remarks at a high-level meeting held on Wednesday at the ARG (Presidential Palace) in Kabul to assess the status of the Afghan economy.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was attended by members of the Islamic Emirate cabinet and UN representatives as well as representatives of 20 foreign countries.<\/p>\n<p>PM Mullah Akhund also called on the international community to recognize the current Kabul administration and urged the US to release the Central Bank\u2019s assets.<\/p>\n<p>He called on the Islamic countries to not wait and let the US be the first to recognize Afghanistan, after which &#8220;you would also recognize it,&#8221; said the prime minister.<\/p>\n<p>He said the lack of recognition is creating severe challenges in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the economic process is implemented, I believe Afghanistan would be pulled out of the current crisis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting minister of Foreign Affairs, said that Afghanistan already\u00a0has an independent government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is obvious to them that Afghanistan has a government which is responsible, committed and believes in acting in mutual interest,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Talking at the meeting, the UN envoy in Afghanistan Deborah Lyons said the role of women and girls is vital for economic progress in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndeed, economic progress, diversity, and inclusion, human rights and equality amongst all citizens are closely connected. As many countries have learned in these last many decades, economic growth stems from innovation and engagement of all citizens,\u201d she said. \u201cThis requires education for all, creativity, building technical capacity and using the diversity and talents of the many ethnic groups throughout an entire population.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen and girls in Afghanistan represent half of the population, and, as other countries around the world have learned, are critical for economic prosperity,\u201d Lyons added.<\/p>\n<p>This comes as the current Afghan government has yet to be recognized by any foreign countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Islamic Emirate has made the upholding of human rights, women&#8217;s rights, and the formation of an inclusive government the preconditions for the recognition of the current Afghan government.<\/p>\n<p>However, Kabul repeatedly said that it has completed all of these conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-blog-meta\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund called on Islamic countries to be the first to recognize the Afghan government. \u00a0 The prime minister made the remarks at a high-level meeting held on Wednesday at the ARG (Presidential Palace) in Kabul to assess the status of the Afghan economy.
