The World Health Organization (WHO) in Afghanistan has urged citizens to take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families from extreme heat as temperatures continue to rise across the country.<\/p>\n
In a message posted on X on Saturday, July 18, the WHO advised people to stay hydrated by drinking water regularly, wear light and loose-fitting clothing, use wide-brimmed or peaked hats, take cool showers, and eat several light meals throughout the day to help the body cope with the heat.<\/p>\n
The organization also encouraged people to stay in the shade and spend two to three hours each day in cool places to reduce the health risks associated with high temperatures.<\/p>\n
The WHO warned against engaging in strenuous physical activities during hot weather and stressed that children should never be left inside parked vehicles.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Taliban’s National Disaster Management Authority announced that temperatures in northern and western parts of Afghanistan could exceed 45\u00b0C on Wednesday this week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
