Mr. Ishaqzai has been representing the United Nations Development Program in Azerbaijan since 2016.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hiwad, said he would soon begin work as Afghanistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
Previously, Adela Raz worked in this position. It has previously been reported that she has been appointed as Afghanistan’s ambassador to the United States.
