Fresh Wave of Afghan Migrant Deportations from Europe; Germany Sends 30 Convicted of Rape, Murder, and Sexual Assault to Kabul
According to a report by the DPA news agency, Germany has returned another group of Afghan men to their country via a charter flight.
It is said that this group included individuals convicted in Germany of crimes such as rape, manslaughter, and sexual assault. The plane took off at night from Leipzig-Halle Airport in eastern Germany and landed on Tuesday in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
According to a German news agency reporter, about 35 people also gathered in the airport terminal and protested against the deportation process.
The German government has reached an agreement with the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan that enables the regular implementation of the return of Afghan migrants.
Based on this agreement, since the Taliban’s return to power, Germany has resumed the process of deportations to Afghanistan, including both individual deportations on regular flights and group charter flights.
Critics of this policy have condemned the German government’s cooperation with the Taliban due to human rights violations. They say that Berlin has in practice given concessions to this group to carry out the deportations, while not recognizing it.
