Pakistan Strikes Three Afghan Provinces; Taliban Say Dozens of Civilians Killed and Injured
After Pakistan announced strikes on alleged positions of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Afghan provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar, the Taliban said that dozens of civilians were killed and injured in the attacks.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on X on Monday morning that “dozens of civilians, including women and children,” were killed in the Pakistani strikes.
According to Mujahid, Pakistani forces bombed “residential areas” overnight in the Giyan district of Paktika, the Samkani district of Paktia, and the Manogai district of Kunar.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ataullah Tarar, confirmed the strikes in a statement posted on X.
He said the operations targeted the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its splinter faction, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar.
