Afghan Migrants Protest in Several Countries, Call for Recognition of Taliban Policies as Gender Apartheid
Groups of Afghan migrants held demonstrations in the United States, Switzerland, Spain, and Canada in support of women in Afghanistan living under Taliban rule.
In Washington, D.C., protesters chanted “Education, Work, Freedom” and called for the international recognition of gender apartheid in Afghanistan.
In Geneva, Switzerland, Afghan migrants gathered outside the United Nations Office to express solidarity with Afghan women and girls.
The demonstrators described the Taliban’s policies and actions as gender apartheid and condemned the violent suppression of peaceful protests in the Jebrail district of Herat.
