More than six million people have returned to Afghanistan since 2023

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that more than six million Afghans have returned to their country since 2023.

On Saturday, 30 Jawza, the organization reported that many returnees have gone back to areas already facing serious challenges such as poverty and limited access to services.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated: “For many families, returning home is only the beginning of a new struggle.”

On the occasion of World Refugee Day, OCHA emphasized that sustainable support is needed in vulnerable areas of Afghanistan to better manage the situation.

This comes as Afghan refugees in various countries, including Pakistan and Iran, continue to face many challenges, including forced deportations.

The United Nations Development Programme (United Nations Development Programme) stated that Afghanistan is still facing one of the world’s most widespread displacement crises.
